Participating in the unit "EDFD459: The Learning Space" has been quite the journey so far. This unit has been very insightful and helped my concept of what learning involves, specifically online learning, to develop . It has also provided me with the opportunity to participate in a range of activities that I didn't think I would undertake, such as creating my own Personal Learning Network - Teaching Zone.
The idea of undertaking an online unit was very intimidating and overwhelming to begin with and I didn't think I would be able to get through it. Participating in weekly activities has allowed me to develop a number of ideas and steps to follow in order to make the process of online learning less stressful and achievable. Whilst engaging in weekly online activities it was interesting to learn that there are a multitude of ways that learning can take place. Learning does not necessarily have to take place physically within a classroom setting but can take place in other ways, providing students with different learning experiences and opportunities. In this unit there is a focus on six learning spaces that students may find themselves in: 1. Personal 2. E-Space 3. Classroom and School 4. Beyond the Classroom 5. Group, Collaborative & Cooperative 6. The Liminal The unit has so far been very interesting and developed my learning in a variety of ways. I am enthralled to see what the rest of the unit provides.
