Incursions and excursions are learning opportunities for students that a different to the normal classroom norm. The experience of learning done in this way allows students to work with new people with a variety of different learning tools and resources, therefore making learning more engaging. Allowing students to participate in learning outside of the classroom can provide risks for students therefore it is vital that time is spent on planning what risks are involved and how to overcome these and what can help prevent these from occurring. Developing a checklist for incursions and excursions can help in eliminating risks occurring and planning what is needed for the incursion/excursion.
The image below is my own checklist that I developed for incursions and excursions.
